Operations & Strategy Lead
Heidi is always listening closely to the heartbeat of Homer Eyecare. Calm, collected, and deeply thoughtful, she plays a key role in keeping the practice moving forward—supporting the team behind the scenes while helping shape how Homer Eyecare grows and evolves.
Collaboration is central to how Heidi works. She believes strong teams are built by listening well, valuing diverse perspectives, and supporting one another through both successes and challenges. Working closely with her team has made her a more open-minded and a reflective decision-maker—growth she carries beyond the workplace.
Honesty, passion, and authenticity guide everything Heidi does. She practices empathy through attentive listening, creating space for others to feel seen, safe, and understood. Having grown up in a small mountain town in Austria and lived in many places around the world, she holds a deep appreciation for Homer’s community-centered spirit and the way people show up for one another. One of her favorite simple joys is an affogato at Carmen’s Gelato on the Spit on a sunny summer day, toes in the warm sand. Her advice to visitors? Be careful—you may not want to leave.
International experiences have shaped Heidi’s worldview. She has a deep passion for Latin America and learned Spanish while living in Colombia with her husband, Andrew, and daughter, Thalia—experiences that broadened her perspective and deepened her cultural understanding. Traveling internationally with the Homer Eyecare team further strengthened her belief that learning from others—and bringing those lessons home—makes both teams and communities stronger.
Outside of work, Heidi is relentlessly curious and deeply adventurous. She gardens with intention, bikes and runs for clarity, bakes for joy, and travels whenever the opportunity arises. She feels most alive in the mountains—skis on her feet, snow under the sky, and vast alpine landscapes stretching in every direction. In another life, she might have been a snow leopard roaming high ridgelines or a language teacher shaping young minds. In many ways, she is still doing the latter—raising her two spirited “monsters,” Andrew and Thalia, to speak fluent Austrian German and to see the world with wide eyes.
