She believes that clarity and empathy can turn even stressful situations into manageable ones.

Shelby’s work is rooted in thoughtful problem-solving and clear communication. Serving her hometown and its community means more to Shelby than processing claims—it’s about relationships. In a small town where patients are friends and family, she takes pride in using principles over policies when life happens, ensuring fairness, respect, and the best possible outcomes for everyone involved. She loves that in Homer, relationships truly matter, and the town’s natural beauty and outdoor spaces are a constant reminder to slow down and appreciate where you are. Her perspective has also been shaped by international travel and training experiences with the Homer Eyecare team, deepening her appreciation for different cultures, values, and lived experiences—and allowing her to connect more meaningfully with patients from all walks of life.

Outside of work, Shelby finds joy in Homer’s natural beauty and slower pace of life. You’ll likely find her camping with her son, competing in rodeo, or spending time with her horses, Nala and Legend. One of her dreams is running an equine rehabilitation center—but for now, she brings that same dedication, compassion, and steady calm to every patient she serves at Homer Eyecare.
